Thomas George Pratt, born in Georgetown, Md. (now part of Washington, D.C.), Feb. 18, 1804 attended Georgetown University & College of New Jersey (now called Princeton University), where he studied law. He was a member of the State Senate, 1838-1843, elected Governor of Maryland in 1844, and served from Jan. 6, 1845 to Jan. 3, 1848. He moved to Annapolis, Md. in 1848 and resumed practice of law.
